Claim Your Spot

Stargazing tours are offered most Thursdays and Saturdays. During colder months - January, February, and March, we take some time off. Check the calendar below. Green shaded dates are available, orange shaded dates are SOLD OUT, and unshaded dates are not available to regular bookings. Click an available date and start your booking. If a date shows SOLD OUT, I can accept waitlist requests only. To be on the waitlist send an email to peter(at)astronomyadventures(dawt)com Include a mobile phone number and email address so I can contact you. While I can never be sure if spots might open, I do sometimes have late cancellations.

Groups of 10 or more have greater flexibility and can be booked for any night assuming I am available.

***Remember, I do not provide transportation***

Cancellation and refund policies
In the event of a late cancellation or no-show on a night that has been confirmed, no refund will be granted. I reserve the right to cancel a tour when the group size total for that night is fewer than four people.

Individual Client Bookings:

If a cancellation is made with 5 days notice, full payment will be returned.
For cancellations with less than 5 days notice, 50% of the total will be returned.
For late cancellations occurring 48 hours or less before a tour start time, no refund will be granted.

Group cancellations with less than 30 days notice forfeit the $100 deposit.

Weather Challenges:
Astronomy Adventures may still be possible even when there are questionable weather conditions. Don't worry about daytime clouds or forecasts days out from our scheduled Astronomy Adventure. I monitor dynamic imagery from visible, infrared and water vapor satellites. Static icons on weather websites and apps can be misleading.

If necessary, I make a call 90 minutes before the scheduled start time to cancel or reschedule. If you do not hear from me, please expect the Astronomy Adventure to be ‘ON’ as planned.

I usually book 10 people maximum and may have turned people away for the spot you booked. Consider your reservation equivalent to a ticket for a sporting event, theater, or concert performance.

If you decide at the last minute not to attend you don't get a refund.

Northern New Mexico, with its mountainous terrain, provides a good example of what scientists call ‘micro-climates’. Don’t get faked-out. If the sky appears cloudy or overcast above Santa Fe, please do not assume the same is true for the dark site.

If a tour is not possible due to inclement weather - buckets of rain, snow, or complete overcast, I will attempt to reschedule the tour for the next possible date. I make the 'official' cancellation call. If a tour is not possible because of weather - your payment is refunded.

**Please note: when I offer a rescheduled date and you accept the arrangement, all policies regarding weather challenges, late cancellation and no-show still apply**

When a group or individual client booking preemptively cancels before I make a careful determination about weather, such cases are handled as a no-show and no refunds are granted.

Bright time:
During days leading up to full moon and just after, the background sky is lit up by moon glow. This extra brightness can hinder our view of celestial objects. I have closed dates around bright time for most months. For 2021, those dates are:

April 24th
May 27th and 29th
June 24th and 26th
July 22nd and 24th
August 19th and 21st
September 18th
October 21st and 23rd
November 18th and 20th
December 16th and 18th
